Ode To The Great Wife

I have a wife who is great
She fills my heart and my plate
She works all day long
in her heart is a song
a loving home to create

She is lovely without and within
She buys and she sells with a grin
My heart gently trusts
In her wisdom that must
be a blessing to those entered in

A WONDERFUL Mother is she
My kids are delighted with glee
they rise up from rest
and cry out she is blessed
Her husband is greatly agreed

She loves the Lord with her mind
dividing the Word each in kind
godly sense is a must
if a husband will trust
in a wife to whose heart he will bind

There is much more I could say
All the wonders this woman display
I love her and when
my time has now been
I'll be glad that with her it was played

HELP!

I need a good name for our school... Scott is suggesting, 'The DeGroff Academy for Excellence in Education'... I don't think I'm going for that one. My mom wants me to use either 'Silver Chair Academy' or 'Reading, Writing and Beyond.' NOT SURE ABOUT THOSE EITHER!!!

Busy???

I've heard a lot of people talking about being really busy lately - including myself! I've even read a couple of blogs about it. Yes, friends, it's that time of year again - VBS, camps, swim lessons, traveling, etc... You all could probably add many things to the list. So, just a couple of verses that encourage me while I am busy. Take time to refresh yourselves in the Lord and allow Him to carry you through your busy schedules today (and every day)!!! It's much better going on in His strength and doing it full of the joy of the Lord!!!

I Corinthians 15:58 "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord." (perseverance)

Isaiah 40:31 "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." (source of strength)

Galatians 1:10 "For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a servant of Christ." (motivation)

Cosossians 3:1,2 "If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth." (mindset)

In all our business, if we forget to spend our time with the Lord, we will get worn out and Satan will be winning a victory! Let's begin it all with the Lord and let Him win the victory today!!!

It happened today right at 9:30 - in the middle of our worship meeting, with no warning, my son just starts puking. My immediate reaction is to try and catch it - with not much luck! I get him walking towards the back, all the while my arms around him trying to catch it, as he proceeds to puke 3 more times before hitting the bathroom. 3 very helpful people come to see what they could do, and I am just mortified at the thought of the stench that must be pervading the place while the meeting continues on for the next 1/2 hour!

Thankfully, Danny got it all out then, and we had no more sickness! But all day long I've been thinking about what I SHOULD have done - how a smart mom would have responded! I laughed when I realized that I had a bag at my feet that I carry my Bible in that I could've just dumped quickly and prevented a trail of the morning's Raisin Bran. And I am almost too embarrassed to admit there was also a 9x13 pan at my feet that I was returning to a friend. But did I stop to think about how that pan could catch a lot more than my hands? NO!!!

So, for all of you who had the privilege of being witnesses of the spectacle at our chapel this morning, I'm sorry that my impulsivity trumped common sense! And for those who did the cleaning (although I didn't stick around to watch, I'm pretty sure I know who you are - I've seen who the servants are in a crisis!!!) thanks for cleaning the floors, the pew, my Bible, my daughter's dress, etc...
