School Day #3 - sick day!

Remember the tough week Danny had at Turkey Hill this summer? Well, this week was the week to get the tetanus booster he needed from that fish hook incident. I don't think the picture does it justice, but his arm swelled a lot, was hard as a rock, burning hot and red, and he got quite the fever. The first day we called the doctor and they said that swelling and soreness were normal. But by day 2 we wondered how normal it was when it looked like elephantitis! As soon as the doctor saw it, we were all glad we took him in! He said the reaction was one in millions and 'NO MORE TETANUS - EVER!!!'

I don't think he minded the day off! He got a good night sleep - despite when I had to wake him up to re-medicate him - and it seems like we are out of the worry zone. I am so thankful that he didn't have breathing problems, and that since he is allergic that we had not gotten it when he was a little baby!

And it is a little ironic that since we have never done immunizations, the one time we do we get the one in millions reaction!

So, it was one of those nights last night, trying to sleep, not being able to, and wondering if I should go in again and check to see if Danny's breathing was okay. Times like that really cause you to think - and I am so infinitely thankful for the peace that comes with knowing that God is in control! It's good to remember that God has given my my children for His glory - and they belong to Him!!!

"Do not fear - for you are of more value than many sparrows. And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will."
Matthew 10:31&29b
