The Amazing Race

In an overwhelming victory, the white queso has made a statement!

Despite strongs efforts at the beginning by the yellow queso, its strivings did not last long. The yellow actually took the lead early on, but the white quickly pulled ahead in a bold effort with the result of utter domination! The yellow weakened, and it wasn't long before it was an obvious losing battle. Even the fans of the yellow severely lacked in support. With the multitude of voters backing the white queso boldly speaking out, the yellow voters seemed to 'yellow' away, not even being so bold as to name themselves! The white voters even endearingly termed their 'blanco' queso and not long into the race, the white cheese had clinched the victory!

The family did put into effect the decision that was made by all of you wonderfully willing participants in finding an answer to this crisis. In a breathtaking turn of events, the entire family ate blanco queso tonight and every single person liked it. Actually, they devoured it!!! So much so that there had to be a reminder of the rule - "No double dipping!"

It's unbelievable folks! I never thought I'd see this day - and I have to admit it - YOU WERE RIGHT!!! You have revolutionized us!

HELP!!!

We're split right down the middle, and we need your help. The problem is this - we go out to eat and don't want to buy 2 cheese dips - it just simply costs too much! But, we can't agree on which is better; white or yellow!

If we had 5 members of our family we could outnumber each other, but I just simply don't forsee that happening any time soon :)

This is a serious issue folks, because we LOVE cheese - but especially when we don't get it often - it may seem like we are choosing one child over the other :)

The kids are watching and are eager to see what YOU like!

So please, help us decide. Cast your vote this week!

(Oh yes, and as for last week's poll - vacuuming seems to be the household chore of choice!)

ps - poll is on left side!

Boys will be boys!!!

Yesterday I took the kids around the block. They rode their bikes, I walked. Since our road spans over 3 blocks with no roads crossing, I let the kids go on ahead (at that particular time of day), just as long as they don't turn the corner. On our last leg, I was walking along and I noticed a flip flop laying on the road that looked strangely similar. I kept expecting Danny to come back looking for it, but he never did. By the time I got home, he'd already put away his bike and was playing on the computer!

I called downstairs, "Is anyone missing anything?" Danny answers, "Oh yeah, I just thought you could get it for me."

I guess he doesn't mind riding for 3 blocks barefoot!

Danny had an assignment to fit his spelling words into this poem - we got quite the kick out of it!

A knock came at my bedroom door; I looked up in surprise.
My mother stood there frowning and with fire in her eyes.
"This room," she said, "I can't believe! It just is not appealing
To see this mound of clutter here reach clear up to the ceiling!
It makes my stomach churn to see the mess this place is in.
In fact, it makes my head ache, too - I need an aspirin.
Our minister would surely pray; a janitor would groan
Too see a room that looks to be a victim of a cyclone.
This litter jumbled everywhere most certainly reduces
The beauty and well-being of our state of Massachussetts.
My child, you have so many strenghs - humor, honesty;
In schoolwork you're a scholar, as each Christian ought to be.
And even when you're mischievous, you're never, ever mean.
But what you need to learn, my child,
is HOW TO KEEP THINGS CLEAN"

Getting Organized!

Doesn't it feel great to get organized? For some of you, this first picture might now even look nice at all, but if you know me and have been at my house, you'll know that this is the dumping grounds - or, to be truthful, I should say one of them! But, I'm on a mission, and I'm not stopping until I'm finished! So, here's the beginning. My laundry room is no longer full of stuff I will never again use! (I'm only keeping the useful junk!)
My school bulletin boards!

And, last but not least, the kitchen! This is meant to be our prayer board, but I need to organize my pictures still! If you would like to be prayed for, send us your photo! We would love to have this thing as full as we can get it and have you all brought to mind as often as possible! And we WILL pray for you - so don't hesitate to send us a photo :)

Feel the Magic!

'Where Dreams Come True' - definitely a good slogan for little girls :)

Rebekah was asked by Mary Poppins to ride the carousel with her! Rebekah described the day later this way, "Mom, all day long I've felt so light." Me, "Why's that?" "Well, it's like all day I've been walking in a dream!"

“O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I get up; you understand my thought from afar. Even before there is a word on my tongue, behold, O LORD, you know it all.” Psalm 139:1, 4

This verse was in my inbox today.
In some ways, it makes me comforted,
in some, I am sad for the ways I know
I have sinned against the Lord.
My thoughts are not private, and they reveal my heart!
What a great exhortation today!
At the same time, what a great comfort!
I think I found the family memory verse for next week!
LORD, know my heart!
